I have a couple different obsessions going on in my life right now. One of which is backing up my photos five different ways (no lie), and the other is strategizing how I’m going to decorate my new house. Aka studying Pinterest.
The builders finally broke ground on our new place, and we’re hopeful we’ll move in in October, or if the get behind, at least before the end of the year. Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to rid my house of things we don’t need, slowly make a plan, and collect things to make our new house a home. I’m no home renovator, and thankfully, with a brand new place, we shouldn’t need much of that, but I am up for some DIY decorating ideas.
Right now I’m getting a kick out of decorating with printable crafts. Especially photo crafts. I can be kind of a photo snob when it comes to large prints, or pictures I want to display, but for smaller snapshots, or things that won’t be displayed in prime locations, I’m ok with experimenting with home or cheap prints.
The nice thing is for the first time ever, I actually have a nice home printer that I can print my own crafts from. I love cute little inspirational quotes in frames, or printables for specific rooms. Here are some ideas I want to give a try:

As you may remember I was sent two HP products to try out last month, these are really proving to come in handy as I make wall decor plans. Recently I was able to print on-the-go using my HP ENVY120 e-All-in-One printer to make Lil’ J’s banner for her birthday party.
As always, I was running behind on preparing for her party, but I did pull it together in a week vs a day like last year. I bought the PDF pattern on Etsy via my phone, and used ePrint to have it printed and waiting for me on my printer at home. I could have sent them to a lab but I was really curious to test the quality of the printer and it came out very nice! I accidentally tested the double-sided printing feature as well, which could prove convenient for something I make in the future.
I cut out the triangles, hole punched the ends, then strung twine through all of them, to make the Rapunzel-inspired banner. On her birthday I hung it up outside her room so she saw it when she woke up and knew exactly what it was. It was a hit at her party too!

There are lots of other little crafts I want to do with her, or around the house, and I feel like a world of options are opened now that I have a decent printer/scanner. And I don’t know about you, but considering all it does, I was surprised by it’s $249 price tag.
Now I’m going to get to work on at least one of these projects, hopefully two, find a way to make them easier, and share a tutorial soon.
